Anuradha Suresh, fondly referred to as Anusha; a New Zealand based artist, was introduced to Bharatanatyam at the Temple of Fine Arts Kuala Lumpur, a cultural institution founded by His Holiness Swami Shantanand Saraswathi. Trained by Gurus Srimathi Vasuki Sivanesan, a sishya of the legendary Dhananjayans and International Dance Director Sri Shankar Kandasamy, Anusha completed her Arangetram in 2011. Upon migration to New Zealand, she was blessed to be further guided by Srimathi Anuradha Ramkumar of the Anuradha School of Dance.
Her musical journey commenced under the tutelage of Srimathi Niranjani Kulaveerasingam in Malaysia, after which she trained under Guruvayur Usha Dorai, daughter of Mirdhangam Maestro Sri Guruvayur Dorai; and Srimathi Vijayalakshmi Arumugam, sishya of Vidushi Lagudi Padmavathy Ananthagopalan. In New Zealand, under the tutelage of Srimathi Yamini Ramesh, a disciple of Sangeetha Bhushanam Madirimangalam Sri Ramachandran and Violin Maestro Sri Lalgudi G. Jayaraman; Anusha completed her Diploma in Carnatic Vocal Music from the University of Madras and the New Zealand Carnatic Music Society.
She currently undergoes advanced vocal training under Vidushi Lalgudi Srimathi Padmavathy Ananthagopalan. In New Zealand, she carries the mantle of The Temple of Fine Arts by conducting Carnatic Vocal and Bharatanatyam classes. She is, at present, a free-lance Vocalist and Dancer. She has been privileged to perform at concerts, productions, music, dance and art festivals both locally and abroad.
